This glorious bank holiday weekend (6th May) saw the first East Lancashire Hospice Bubble Rush event at Pleckgate School, Blackburn. The Bubble Rush is a 5km run or walk event for all ages which incorporates five coloured foam inflatable walkways through which the participants had to pass.
On the day we had twelve volunteers arriving at 8.30 a.m. for a short briefing and who were then allocated one of the foam stations. Two volunteers helped guide the participants through the bubbles and at the other end two gave out water and tissues as needed. The event had two start times with over 500 people taking part in total. Hopefully this event will have raised a considerable amount for East Lancs Hospice. I was asked to pass on big thank you from the Hospice to all the volunteers.
