On Monday 12th August 2019, Bob Findlay, Bolton District Charity Steward was delighted to present a cheque for £900 from the East Lancashire Masonic Charity to Christine Ogden of Muscular Dystrophy UK. The money will be used to help fund a charity concert that will be held in November 2019, with all proceeds going to funding for research into this debilitating disease. Christine has been arranging concerts for Muscular Dystrophy each autumn for the last 15 years, with this year’s event hoping to raise £10,000. Muscle wasting diseases affect around 1 in 1000 people, with 70,000 currently suffering in the UK. There is currently no cure for muscular dystrophy, making research into this area crucial. Full details of the concert and how to purchase tickets will be provided in the near future.
