The Inspiration Station has been set up at Blackburn’s old fire station to enable members of the local community who have disabilities or have additional needs to have access to free arts and crafts.  Inspiration Station really benefits the members of the community who find it difficult to engage with groups. Kymberly Westall facilitates the free to access art and craft activities, which help the people who come to the Inspiration Station to feel part of the community whilst also providing much needed respite time for parents and carers.
The Inspiration Station was founded by Liz Crook whose passion for supporting those in need in her local Blackburn community has led to her winning Woman of the Year at Blackburn’s One Voice Community Champion Awards.  When Liz contacted the East Ribble District Charity Steward, Mike Stubbs for support with the purchase of a PC, for teaching of media and graphics.  He was overwhelmed with her enthusiasm. Together they successfully applied for a grant from the ELMC.
On a warm summer evening Mike and his Assistant Malcolm Roe, met with Liz and Kymberly for a tour of the Inspiration Station facility and the presentation of the ELMC cheque which was very gratefully received.
