WBro Roy Stott celebrated his 50th Masonic anniversary at the Lodge of Remembrance No.3787 on Thursday the 26th of May 2022, at Accrington Masonic Hall.

Roy himself made sure everyone supporting his night was made welcome, by buying all in attendance a drink to share in his celebration, handing out self made ‘bar tokens’ to all of the Brethren as they arrived at the Hall.

In the meeting itself, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro Alan Kirwillian, PSGD, was received along with a full deputation. He was honoured, then offered the Gavel of the Lodge by the WM Duncan Holmes, which he gratefully accepted.

WBro Stott was placed in the centre of the Lodge by the ProvDepGDC WBro John Lees, before fellow Lodge Member WBro Peter Hargreaves, PAGDC, delivered a well researched and much appreciated tribute to Roy, which can be found Click Here

WBro Kirwilliam then proceeded to reminisce on the year 1972, sharing the highs and lows of the time, demonstrating that in the world of politics and the economy, nothing really changes too much!

After being presented with his personal letter from the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Robert Ian Frankl, Roy was presented with his illuminated certificate by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master following which, he was permabulated around the Lodge by the ProvDepGDC to the acclaim of the assembled Brethren.

A most enjoyable Festive board helped make this an appropriately celebratory occasion for WBro Stott’s 50 years of Masonic service.
