During this Corona virus pandemic, when most people are working from home, or even unable to work, an East Lancashire Freemason’s business is continuing to operate as normal, supplying the NHS, Public Health England and front-line research laboratory facilities with vital products and service.

John Lees, a member of Lodge of Probity and Freedom 367, Tudor Chapter 277 both in Rochdale, and currently one of our Provincial Deputy Grand Directors of Ceremonies, is the Managing Director of Saddleworth-based LTE Scientific who are a specialist manufacturer of sterilization and decontamination equipment along with a wide range of laboratory equipment. Their equipment is used in hospitals for decontamination and sterilization of instruments for operations, and in laboratories for the processing of sterile materials and laboratory discard such as Covid-19 samples.

John explains:

As a key supplier during these worrying times, we have a small but crucial role to play to help keep the NHS, research and front-line laboratories operational. We have a large manufacturing site, meaning we can follow social distancing rules for all our staff. This, along with strict health and safety regimes mean we can keep them safe, stay open and do our bit. Our service team are continuing to provide support around the UK. We have a great team here at LTE, and their commitment has been fantastic.

Hopefully, this pandemic will be over very soon, but in the meantime, it’s great to see East Lancashire Freemasons doing what they can for the NHS and their communities in all sorts of different ways.
