On Friday 11th December, Rochdale District Freemason’s Chairman Doug Smith and District Charity Steward John Taylor, and District Assistant Charity Steward Danny Nuttall, made their annual visit to Springhill Hospice in Rochdale to present Christmas gifts for local men and women who receive services of the Hospice. They also presented a cheque for £1880 towards helping to continue supporting the amazing and challenging work undertaken by staff at Springhill Hospice.
Chief Executive Julie Halliwell spoke passionately about the extremely challenging year in providing hospice care, due to the pandemic. She went on to say: “We are so grateful for the generosity, of the East Lancashire Masonic Charity for their generous grant” and Rochdale Freemasons for their Christmas gifts and continued support.
Doug Smith said, “This year more than ever has shown us all how important the work of the hospice is in providing care to members of our community. We are proud to be able to continue supporting their work.
Rochdale Freemasons would like to wish Julie a very happy and well-deserved retirement after 27 years at Springhill Hospice”
