On Thursday 9th September 2021, Parnassus Lodge No.9869 celebrated the 50th Anniversary of WBro Robert Chadwick PProvJGW in fine style.
The ceremony had 40 Brethren present and was presided over by W.Bro. Rev Canon Richard W. Hawkins PSGD, APGM after accepting the gavel from the Worshipful Master, Dean Wheeler.
A District delegation was in attendance, along with some very distinguished guests, it is a measure of Robert’s high regard in Freemasonry with the District Delegation numbering 12 including 6 Grand Lodge Officers present within the lodge.
The members and guests heard Robert’s life story and masonic career told by WBro Allan Bennion PJGD, a friend from his former mother lodge, Aldwyn Lodge 5172. Some of Robert’s highlights included setting up a quilting company with his brother, which is still going. Robert has served as WM and as treasurer for many years in his former lodge, and comes highly recommended for keeping an eye on the finances.
The Golden Jubilee Certificate and the personal letter from the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Sir David Trippier, were both presented by the APGM.
WBro Chadwick was paraded around the lodge room to the acclaim of all the brethren present
The District Chairman, WBro Nigel Johnson, completed the presentations with a 50th lapel badge, on behalf of the Audenshaw District.
The social board was a very joyous occasion with a splendid atmosphere .
A great evening was had by all, one which Parnassus Lodge No.9869 can be justly very proud of.
