On Tuesday May 9th Audenshaw Fellowship hosted The 39th Annual Fellowship Conference at Stanley House Function Rooms.

Over 70 people attended, representing Ashton, Audenshaw, Oldham, Rochdale, Clitheroe, Warrington, Bolton, Accrington and Leyland.
They were welcomed by the Audenshaw Chairman, Donald Roberts, who gave a brief history on the hall. Peter Douthwaite then said grace, and a hearty meal was served.
After the meal Donald Roberts introduced The Deputy Provincial Grand Master, The Very Worshipful Brother John Farrington, who proposed the toast to the Fellowship. He mentioned how the fellowship started, how Ken Tyler approached the then Provincial Grand Master, Lord Hewlett, about a ‘ widows club ‘, now known as the Fellowship. In the end, the Provincial Grand Master told Ken Tyler to ‘go and plant his tree’, in other words go and set up the club. Mrs Jean Forrester, the secretary of the fellowship groups, responded on behalf of the fellowship.
A discussion then took place concerning speakers, and perhaps centralising all contact details of all speakers so it would be easier to keep a full calendar. Jean Forrester said that she was available for groups and gave a snippet by singing a song
Leyland Fellowship have offered to host next years conference which would be held in October 2024.
The Audenshaw chairman thanked everyone for their attendance and wished them a safe journey home. Everyone left the conference very contented.
